Almost sold buttons at Balticon
A batch of buttons (possibly 28 buttons and papers to be made into buttons) got left at Balticon because there was no obvious way to pay for them-- paypal would have worked, but I wasn't at the table to say there were options beyond cash and checks.

If you happen to be the person who ordered or have heard someone talking about that happening, could you contact me?

Paypal sent me a card reader, for free, that I can use with my android phone. It's the same as the Square brand card reader, only it deposits directly to my Paypal account, unlike Square, which requires a second transfer to a bank account. Since you said right now you're taking Paypal, cash and checks, this might add a little more into your options, while not being Yet Another Account (since it all goes into Paypal). The 2.7% fee is slightly higher than most credit card processors (which are usually 1.95%), *but* you're not paying for the program (ie, there are no other fees)...if you go to an event and no one charges anything, you won't need to keep the account active every month just to use it.

I have a cheap $60 android phone and a $35 a month plan with unlimited data, and it works fine on it, so it's not terribly expensive to use, especially if you're already paying for non-smartphone service.

(also if a place has wifi, you wouldn't need the data plan, since an android can use wifi and the data's encrypted anyway. but I suspect you'd want to be able to charge things in places that wouldn't have it)
