In case there isn't enough in the real world to get pissed off at

One of my pet peeves is people who make up stupid and/or annoying things that they expect from the folks on the other side. If it were predictions that were held a little lightly ("maybe they'll say x, let's see what happens"), it would be interesting.

However, I've never seen it presented as something that *might* happen. No, it's always "they'll say [some stupid and annoying thing]", as though the future is as solid as the past. And there's no sense of scale. Will it be a lot of people on the Other Side, or just one or two cherished examples?

I realize this might count as a self-negating complaint. After all, people might stop making up annoyances and recounting them, and I'd be glad if that's how it happened. However, I count that as unlikely, and I haven't seen mention elsewhere of this habit.

Besides, the universe will supply you with more and better stupidity than you can possibly imagine.
