Dreamwidth account set-up problem
So, I got a random invite, and started setting up an account. When I got to the second page about my interests (all the fields are optional), I found that [save and continue] button just puts me back on the same page.

Other people manage to set up Dreamwidth accounts. I assume it's just beta-ness rather than being targeted by Murphy, but is there some incredibly obvious thing I'm not seeing?

Two thoughts:

(1) is there some field that you're leaving blank that your average mundane would likely fill in? There might be a coding error such that one or more fields aren't actually "optional"

(2) What browser are you using? There are more than a few sites that only work properly with IE...

Two thoughts:

1. What browser are you using?

2. Are you using any automatic antiscripting/popup/ads software or add-ons?

I had to switch from my usual Opera to Firefox - and add Dreamwidth.com to the NoScript addon whitelist - to make the initial setup process go properly. Once the account was actually set up, I could do all the regular management in Opera.

My thanks to both of you.

I assume there was some sort of glitch. My account got confirmed, but my interest information got lost and I need to re-enter it.

I use Firefox, and I'd be shocked if Dreamwidth doesn't accomodate it.

I don't *think* I have any blockers active, but I should check. I haven't been able to get the handy blue html tags stripe back, and I miss it.
