I tried to figure out what else dreamwidth could sound like. I'm guessing dream-with? But to my ears, dth, with an audible d and a voiced th, sounds quite distinguishable from the th of with, which is voiceless.
Do you say width as a homonym with with?
I don't quite say them as homonyms, but they're very close, and I can't necessarily hear a difference.

It would never have occurred to me that the words "with" and "width" could be confused. I'm very aware of the extra phoneme in "width" when I say it.

'with' and 'width' are easily confused in many dialects, including my native one.
