Searching one's journal?
Ordinary googling used to work pretty well for finding LJ/DW articles, but it doesn't any more. Sometimes (even starting with url: doesn't help much) it will give a few articles, but it ignores keywords from subject lines and sometimes only gives the url for the journal rather than for a particular article it cites.

Any suggestions?

I actually had the same problem. In the end, I found a site that allows you to turn your whole LJ into a PDF file, and use that document to search. It's quick once you do the conversion. link: http://www.ljbook.com/

Exactly what I was going to say. I back my LJ up annually to PDF.

Oh, cool idea! I just started my journal last month. Maybe I ought to do that at the end of this year.

I use ljArchive. Same general idea as ljbook, mentioned above, but you can update rather than creating an entire new file. (I update at least once a week.)

This. It's a great way to have access to your entire LJ, including comments.

Me, too. Doesn't work for communities, but it's great for my personal LJ. (Don't know if it works with DW, either.)

I love the fact that it archives comments -- that's a configurable feature, so you don't have to if you don't want to.

Also, it means you don't give your LJ password to a third party. Even if you don't care about the risk to your own entries, remember that that password grants access to journal entries from bunches of other people too.
