Holy moly! L'Engle was dead on target with that observation about the seductiveness of security. It's so applicable to today, too. It's affecting both the political left and the right here in the States.

You're welcome. I think some of it could have been figured out because Camazotz looked like an American suburb, but it's good to have the pages.

It never occurred to me to tie Camazotz to the USSR; it always seemed obvious to me that suburban conformity was the target.
